At 1,400–1,600 MASL, the Salawara Estate in the Nilgiris grows SLN6 at some of the highest elevations in South Indian coffee. The slow growth at altitude gives the beans a density and clarity that sets them apart — and the washed process keeps the cup exceptionally clean.
We roast this to a true medium to preserve the Nilgiri terroir — the floral notes, the hibiscus-like acidity, and the milk chocolate sweetness that makes this estate's coffee so distinctive. A single origin that earns its place on any serious menu.
Medium grind. Open ratio to let the floral and citrus notes through. Best as a single shot or piccolo where the origin character has room.
High-altitude washed coffees like Salawara are best brewed with clean, filtered water and precise temperature control. The floral notes are delicate — even 2°C difference changes the cup significantly.
Milk chocolate and almond sweetness through milk. The floral note adds an unusual, welcome brightness.
Hibiscus and citrus up front, milk chocolate through the centre, clean almond finish. A memorable cup.
